What's Happening in Kendallville and Noble County?

Kendallville Christmas Walk
Kendallville Christmas Walk in the city on Nov. 23. The Kendallville Christmas Bureau will benefit from the event.
Six stops will be featured on this year’s walk. Five homes in the community and Floral Hall on the Noble County Fairgrounds will be open to visitors from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
The featured homes will be decorated for the holiday season. Opening their homes for the tour are:
• Tom and Darlene Gisel, 208 S. Morton St.;
• Dennis and Pam Musselman, 237 S. Burnam St.;
• Loren and Mary Allen, 224 S. Burnam St.;
• Edward and Annette Weber, 439 S. Water St.; and
• Phil and Sue Stephan, 112 S. Orchard St. (the Levin house).
Floral Hall will have several vendors offering gift items and cookies and hot beverages. A Christmas movie will be shown at Floral Hall.
Advance tickets are available for $8 at The News Sun, Orizon Real Estate and at the Kendallville Youth Center. They will be available the day of the event at each location for $10.
Proceeds from the walk will go to the Kendallville Christmas Bureau. There will be a toy drop box at the Musselman home. Those donating a toy will be included in a drawing for a designer tote from 31 loaded with gift items.

This Week’s activities at Noble County Public Library East
ALL AGES
· NEW MATERIALS – All branches have MANY new children’s holiday books as well as best sellers from John Grisham, Anne Rice, Sara Paretsky and James Patterson. New movies include Pacific Rim, Parkland, Grownups 2, and White House Down. Grab a TV season of Breaking Bad, Dexter, True Blood or Glee!
· NCPL WEATHER-RELATED CLOSINGS – Announcements will be made on TV stations 21 and 23, radio stations WMEE, WOWO and WBCL. Be sure to check our Facebook page!
· CLOSINGS - All NCPL branches will be closed December 24 & 25 for the holidays and will close at 5pm. Tuesday, Dec. 31.
KIDS
· AFTERSCHOOL MOVIE – “Despicable Me 2” will be shown Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 3:30.
· BOOK BUDDIES – this month will be Thursday, Dec. 19 at 10am.
TEENS (middle and high school kids!)
· Teen Special - CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD – Call the East branch for more information.

Kendallville, IN – Here are the programs coming up for Adults, Children and Teens at the Kendallville Public Library from December 16-22.
 
LEGO Club -- Mondays, December 16, 23 & 30 at 3:30 p.m. -- LEGO Club is back for some after school fun! Children of all ages can attend each week for building challenges and creative play.
 
Tablet & eReader Petting Zoo -- Monday, December 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; Tuesday, December 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday, December 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.; Thursday, December 19 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. -- At these Tablet & eReader Petting Zoo, patrons will play with technology like an iPad, Kindle, Kindle Fire, Sony Reader, HansPad, Ematic, and Kyros 7.
 
Preschool Storytime: Winter -- Tuesday, December 17 at 10:00 a.m. & 6:30 p.m. -- Winter is almost here, and many children are ready for the snow, ice and more...they'll get it at Preschool Storytime.
 
Teen Movie Night -- Tuesday, December 17 at 4:00 p.m. -- Teens who love Percy Jackson can watch Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters at the Teen Movie Night. Snacks will be provided. This movie is rated PG and runs 106 minutes.

“Ugly Sweater” Box Fort Building -- Thursday, December 19 at 3:30 p.m. -- Children love to build box forts out of cardboard and duct tape, and this time around they'll do that while wearing an ugly sweater! 
 
Novel Conversations -- Thursday, December 19 at 6:30 p.m. -- Joanna's Dealicious Treats -- The Novel Conversations group will meet at Joanna's Dealicious Treats to discuss The Witch of Little Italy by Suzanne Palmieri. Books are available now at the Adult Reference Desk.

Minecraft Mania -- Thursday, December 19 at 5:30 p.m. -- At Minecraft Mania, a Minecraft expert will be on hand to offer tips and tricks as teens build their world or simply try to survive. Those with an account, laptop, iPad, or iPhone, should bring it along.  The library will have laptops and accounts available for other who need them.
 
iPad App Pack -- Thursday, December 19 at 7:00 p.m. -- The iPad App Pack is a group of iPad users who want to share their device experience and learn from others. Anyone with an iPad is welcome to join.
 
Moments from Mindy’s Kitchen -- Friday, December 20 at 12:00 p.m. -- Mindy Patterson, along with guest cook LeeAnn DePew will demonstrate some of their favorite Christmas dishes. Bring a sack lunch to eat while they cook, and then sample the treats they make. Registration is required.
 
Yu-Gi-Oh Tournament -- Saturday, December 21 & 28 at 10:00 a.m. -- There is a $2 tournament fee that should be paid at the door, or participants can pay a $5 fee and receive a pack of cards.

Rome City, IN – Here are the programs coming up for Adults, Children and Teens at the Limberlost Public Library from December 16-22.
 
Limberlost Coupon Group -- Monday, December 16 at 1:00 p.m. -- The monthly Coupon Group meets, trades and shares deals. Expired coupons can be donated to Coups for Troops.  Snacks and drinks are welcome. 
 
Family Movie Night: Polar Express -- Monday, December 16 at 6:00 p.m. -- Families can stay late at the library and watch The Polar Express on the big screen! Snacks and drinks will be provided. Registration is requested, but not required.
 
Book Buddies -- Thursday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. -- This program is open to children 3-6 years of age. Fun & sensory activities will get children started in reading and writing. Their large and fine motor skills will be strengthened during the play time. An educational handout and a book will be given at each session.

Christmas Cards & Bird Feeders -- Thursday, December 19 at 4:00 p.m. -- Children will create Christmas cards for a local nursing home and bird feeders for each child to keep.
